Accounting Specialist

Description

J.D. Streett & Company, Inc. is seeking a full-time, detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team. The position will play a key role in executing daily accounting functions, supporting store operations, and ensuring financial accuracy across our locations.

Requirements

Primary Functions and Areas of Responsibility :

• Support accounts payable and receivable functions by managing and processing invoices and EFT payments.
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and account reconciliations and assist with month-end close
• Assist with external audits and tax returns
• Collaborate with store managers to resolve discrepancies
• Monitor vendor billing and payments
• Prepare and file sales tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
• Help implement and monitor internal controls to prevent fraud
• Ensure compliance with local and state tax regulations including but not limited to renewal of annual business licenses and filing personal property declarations
• Recommend and help implement improvements to accounting systems and processes for greater efficiency
