Chief of Medical Services

To support its thriving clinical service, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a full-time  Chief of Clinical Pathology .  The Department of Pathology is accredited by both the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) . We perform over 3 million tests annually and have a growing outreach program. Tufts Medical Center is an internationally respected, 400-bed, tertiary care academic medical center located in downtown Boston, adjacent to the Tufts University School of Medicine and a proud member of the Tufts Medicine Healthcare System.

How you’ll transform patient care :

Lead the professional, technical, and administrative operations of the clinical laboratories in close collaboration with the Chair and Director of Clinical Operations.

Provide strategic oversight across a comprehensive range of services, including chemistry, toxicology, mass spectrometry, immunology, hematology, coagulation, flow cytometry, microbiology, transfusion medicine and apheresis, molecular diagnostics, and HLA.

You’ll qualify for an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.

Possess an MD or equivalent degree and be eligible to obtain a medical license in the of Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Proven leadership skills and considerable experience in the administrative, teaching, and clinical activities of an academic department of laboratory medicine.

Expertise in HLA with ASHI certification and / or Blood Bank / Transfusion Medicine, with prior leadership experience in either domain strongly preferred.
