American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position in a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a compact or ME RN license and strong neuro / trauma ICU skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital settingLevel II Trauma Center with 26 ICU beds, some negative pressure roomsCare for medical, surgical, trauma, neuro, ortho, and interventional patientsCommon cases include ICP monitoring, EVD, spinal precautions, DKA, multisystem trauma, sepsis, ARDS, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, and strokePatient ratio is typically 1 : 2, with the possibility of a third patient briefly during transitionsUses Cerner EMR system (experience preferred)Shifts are 7P-7A, 12-hour nights, with a weekend rotation every other week (Fri / Sat for nights)No on-call requirementsMay float to Cardiac Care Unit, stepdown units, or PICU if qualifiedResponsible for comprehensive ICU care including advanced neuro / trauma interventions and critical care proceduresFull support available from 24 / 7 resource nurse, RT, hospitalist, intensivist, and trauma surgery teamGeneral hospital orientation provided plus one shift of unit orientationProfessional scrubs required in any solid colorFlu vaccination is required; only medical exemptions will be reviewed by the facilityFree parking available in designated areasScheduling of holidays will be based on unit need and must be approved by the managerFirst-time travelers are acceptedTime-off requests must be submitted in advance for managerial approval\n \n Requirements\n
Active ME or Compact RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of recent ICU experienceCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, and NIHSSPALS certification preferred for possible PICU floatStrong neuro and trauma ICU experience including EVD and ICP monitoring is requiredExperience with ventilator management, critical care drips, drain management, stroke care, hemodynamic lines (A-lines / CVP), cardiac rhythm recognition, and chest tube / tracheostomy careExperience with Cerner EMR preferredCandidates must not have worked permanently at any Northern Light Health hospitalCandidates must live 100+ miles South / SW of the hospital to be considered\n Benefits\n
