Description
1. Maintains overall situational awareness during transports communicating information between all parties.
2. Acts as a liaison between the medical, aviation, and ground components to ensure safe decision making during transport.
3. Accurately completes all documentation and ensures its accuracy throughout the transport.
4. Promptly and professionally answers all telephone and radio traffic.
5. Accurately relays information from a referring physician / staff member to AC staff. Regularly updates the referring facility of the estimated time of arrival (ETA) and potential delays.
6. Communicates with the referring facility to provide arrival times, coordination of ground transportation as needed, and to request all admissions information.
7. Performs administrative duties such as maintaining petty cash records, update department team schedules and maintains daily schedules for transport team, ICU physicians and on call staff.
8. Maintains a working knowledge of aviation as it relates to medical transport including airports, weather, and navigational concepts, road conditions, possible traffic delays, and approaching severe weather.
9. Monitors airspace in and around AC to provide a safe environment and coordinates all departures and arrivals including visiting aircraft. Relays aircraft status to all inbound / outbound aircraft to ensure situational awareness.
10. Relays information concerning NOTAMS and PIREPS which are received into the Communication Center.
11. Coordinates the use of fixed wing aircraft by Angel One team members. Coordinates all ground ambulance transportation needed between the airport and the referring facility.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
