The propulsion Engineer focuses on the design, analysis, and validation of engine systems and components , working closely with multidisciplinary teams with the engine manufacturer organization. The successful candidate will help ensure that the propulsion system meets all performance, safety, and certification objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support the design and development of propulsion system components , including fan, compressor, combustor, turbine, and exhaust systems.
- Conduct thermodynamic cycle analysis and performance modeling to evaluate engine efficiency, thrust, and fuel burn.
- Perform aerothermal and structural analyses of critical components using CFD and FEA tools.
- Participate in component and full-engine testing , including test planning, data acquisition, and result interpretation.
- Support engine control system development and integration of sensors, actuators, and FADEC logic.
- Contribute to materials selection , cooling design, and mechanical integrity assessments for high-temperature components.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, manufacturing, and certification teams to ensure technical consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements (FAR Part 33, EASA CS-E).
- Assist with failure analysis, root cause investigation, and design improvements during the engine test and validation phases.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Propulsion Engineering.10+ years of experience in gas turbine or propulsion system development , preferably within an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.Strong understanding of turbomachinery design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer .Experience with CFD / FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, CFX, Fluent, Abaqus, or equivalent).Familiarity with engine testing environments , instrumentation, and data analysis tools.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with novel or sustainable propulsion technologies (hybrid-electric, low-emission, or supersonic engines).Knowledge of combustion modeling , emissions reduction strategies, and advanced materials.Prior involvement in certification or R&D test campaigns .
