Scripps Mercy Hospital has served central and downtown San Diego since 1890 and is the oldest medical center in the county. The San Diego campus is located near the corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Street in Hillcrest.
Scripps Mercy Hospital consists of two campuses in San Diego and Chula Vista.
Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego’s campus includes the O’Toole Breast Care Center, a 24-hour emergency room that is a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery and our childbirth unit (including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit).
This is a Full-Time (72 hours per pay period), with a 12-hour varied shift, on variable days of the week including holidays and weekends.

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego is located in the heart of Hillcrest. Our nurses have the distinction of working in the longest established hospital and the only Catholic medical center in San Diego. Supporting excellence in patient and family-centered care, the Medical Acute unit provides exceptional patient service with the “Mercy style of care”. With the belief that the mind, body, and spirit each play an integral part in the healing process, we care for our patients with that philosophy in mind.
The Medical Acute unit is a 36-bed Medical Acute / Telemetry unit. As RN you will perform assessments and prioritize care to a diverse patient population to include chest tubes, wound care, central lines, NG tubes, PCA’s, foley catheter placements, and tracheostomy.
The RN Clinical Mentor functions primarily as an RN with additional duties. Takes responsibility for assigned patients during RN relief periods. Works collaboratively and educationally with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care. Takes responsibility for education and guidance of Registered Nurses regarding the nursing process, critical thinking, accountability for the plan of care and it's relation to patient outcomes, and communication / collaboration with all team members. Functions as a clinical expert, role model, mentor and resource in a designated practice area. Works collaboratively with the Charge Nurse, Educator and Manager of that area to develop a learning environment for the caregivers, as well as a service, outcome and care oriented environment for the patients.

Position Pay Range : $59.75-$86.53 / hour
