RN OR / Physician Practice Rounding

Job Summary

This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent and evidence-based care which may include assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of continuity of care between the OR, Inpatient Unit, and Ambulatory Practice. Will serve as the first point of contact for the inpatient units and inpatient case management team for immediate post procedure care and care coordination. Assists with surgery, rounding with the provider, decision making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care to achieve high quality and cost-effective patient outcomes. Must have the ability to work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologist and members of staff to anticipate needs and provide clinical support throughout surgery. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Indiana Registered Nurse License.
• One year nursing or CST experience in a hospital Operating Room or related healthcare setting
• BLS certification or must obtain during Orientation and prior to reporting to department.
• ACLS Certification or must obtain within one year of hire and maintain current according to ACLS policy.
