PURPOSE : The Hostess is responsible for providing superior customer service while greeting guests as they enter the restaurant and seek to enhance the guest’s experience during their time in the restaurant. The Hostess will work closely with the Management Team in order to optimize the ambiance, flow, and maximize the seating arrangements of the dining room. Furthermore, this position will also work closely with the service staff to maintain an organized account of guests coming in and out of the restaurant, while keeping track of which tables are available and / or needs to be cleared. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental policies, practices and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for processing guest arrivals, departures, phone calls, and reservation bookings.
- Greet guest in a friendly manner, acknowledging any celebrations or special notes listed on the reservation.
- Distributes business among Marketing Model Food Servers equally and as fairly as possible.
- Monitors guests that are seated, and immediately respond to guest’s needs or request if first contact.
- Represents the brand of the venue by posing in pictures for social media and marketing campaigns and promotional events on property and in public venues.
- Checks on the billing status of casino, room, bill back, and comp numbers to assist in closing of checks.
- Maintains complete knowledge of entire menu and proper food handling presentation and service.
- Cleans and maintains all food and beverage menus.
- Responsible for changing out menus when updates occur.
- Maintains the proper supplies for the hostess podium and cleans and / or dusts podium.
- Assist service staff in their tasks as it relates to billing, guest requests or guest information.
- Maintains pleasant posture, movement, gestures and walking in line with fashion standards and trends as deemed by management.
- Consistently maintains a well-groomed appearance and hygiene in accordance with Company standards and the brand of the venue.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide service to each guest quickly and accurately, advises manager of any guest complaints.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
