Job Description for Powertrain Control Unit Validation Engineer

Join LER TechForce, an industry leader in embedded controls, software, functional safety, and engineering talent, with over 20 years of experience serving North American clients. We are seeking a skilled Powertrain Control Unit Validation Engineer to contribute to automotive development projects.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and test Powertrain Control Units for automotive applications.
  • Write hardware and software specifications.
  • Perform confirmation testing on actual vehicles and simulators.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve related technical issues.
  • Analyze software functional data and generate reports.
  • Collaborate with component suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Make informed technical decisions with moderate supervision.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to achieve project goals.
  • Research new technologies and market trends, proposing future product ideas.

Qualifications :

  • BSc or MSc in Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Powertrain ECU validation, preferably with Transmission, Shifter, or FI-ECU.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical hardware and software development.
  • Interest in automotive technology and experience with electronic measuring equipment and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Vector tools (CANalyzer, CANape), and ETAS INCA.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license.
  • Work Location : Raymond, OH
