Description
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for supporting all laboratory testing and inspection activities related to plastic pellet quality. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all products meet established quality standards before shipment or packaging. The QC Technician will operate specialized testing equipment, perform visual inspections, document data accurately, and communicate findings with production personnel. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work independently in an office / lab environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the color sorter to inspect plastic pellets for discoloration or color inconsistencies.
- Perform pellet size measurements using the camper device.
- Conduct manual picking and inspection of pellets to identify deformities, sizing issues, or abnormal characteristics.
- Operate the vacuum system to remove pellets from composite drums for testing purposes.
- Set up, run, and troubleshoot all machines located in the color sorter room.
- Accurately log and record results from all tests using computer-based data entry.
- Learn and utilize the GSA system for test results, data management, and project tracking.
- Communicate with the Production Lead and Supervisor regarding testing results, rework needs, or project updates.
- Assist with occasional production floor tasks when requested by leadership.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the QC Lab, machines, trays, and workstations.
- Follow all safety rules, including proper wearing of PPE (hard hat, hi-vis vest, safety boots, etc.).
- Support rework projects or special test requests as directed by the QC Lead Technician.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling product quality information.

Required Qualifications
Strong attendance and reliability; must report to work consistently at 6 : 00 AM.Willingness to stay late or work occasional weekend hours when necessary.Ability to work in a desk-based lab environment, sitting for extended periods while conducting testing.Ability to follow detailed instructions and guidance from the QC Lead Technician.Basic computer skills and the ability to accurately enter data into digital systems.Willingness to learn and operate the GSA system and all QC Lab equipment.Clear communication skills when working with lab personnel, production leads, and supervisors.Ability to perform repetitive, detail-oriented tasks with high accuracy.Ability to wear required PPE at all times (PPE provided by Safety Team).Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a QC, lab, manufacturing, or production environment.Experience using testing equipment or performing quality inspections.Familiarity with plastic resin, pelletizing, or packaging processes.Work Environment & Expectations
Primary work is performed in the QC Lab (climate-controlled office environment).Occasional work on the production floor may be required.Must comply with all Quantix & Kuraray EVAL safety rules, policies, and PPE requirements.Team-oriented environment that requires strong communication and collaboration.Disclaimer
