Location : Geneva, NY 14456 (New York healthcare jobs)

Assignment Type : Travel Operating Room Tech position

Start Date : As early as 12 / 15 / 2025 (subject to change, as late as 1 / 12 / 2026)

End Date : 4 / 4 / 2026

Duration : 16-week contract

Shifts : 4x9 hour days per week, with call rotations and weekend shifts as needed

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1260 - $1350

OR Tech Job Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience as an Operating Room Technician or Surgical Scrub Tech

Current OR Tech certification required (Certified Surgical Technologist preferred)

BLS certification through AHA or RQI required

Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures

Ability to work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and ancillary healthcare staff

Professional, courteous demeanor and discretion with confidential patient information

Operating Room Technician Responsibilities

Participate as a key team member in planning and implementing patient care in the operating room

Clean surgical instruments and ensure proper sterilization using approved procedures

Select and organize equipment and supplies based on specific surgical procedures

Prepare instrument sets according to surgeon preference lists and patient needs

Maintain aseptic technique and create / maintain a sterile field at all times

Assist with surgical hand scrubbing, donning sterile gown and gloves, and setting up sterile field

Handle and operate advanced surgical equipment and technology

Follow protocols for instrument counts and medication labeling; initiate corrective measures as needed

Serve as a preceptor and mentor to new healthcare employees

Assess the surgical environment for safety, cleanliness, and compliance with healthcare standards
