Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine VA

Required Skills:

• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in Virginia
• Valid Federal DEA certification
• Proven experience in general medicine or related fields
• Strong assessment and interview skills
• Excellent documentation and report-writing abilities
• Ability to work independently in a clinical setting
• Attention to detail and professional integrity

Nice to Have Skills:

• Previous experience with VA or federal healthcare systems
• Certification in occupational health or related specialties
• Familiarity with Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations
• Experience with physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing ( MSN or DNP)
• Minimum of 2 years clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner
• Prior experience performing VA-related assessments or evaluations

Other Requirements:

• Must own a qualified office location for conducting exams
• Ability to travel locally within assigned VA locations
• Flexibility to work 4-hour half-day shifts or full-day blocks (up to 8 hours)
• Commitment to completing administrative follow-up tasks
• Willingness to adhere to VA and VHS standards and protocols

Hourly Pay Rate: $600 for 4-hour shifts or less; $1200 for 5-hour shifts or longer. Includes travel and administrative reimbursements where applicable. Bonuses available for completing initial training and first assessments.
