Scheduled Work Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday

The MRP Analyst oversees the inventories and orders needed to support production schedules for assigned items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • MRP Analyst/Buyer mainly for ingredients / some packaging as well
  • Follow and/or develop departmental purchasing strategies.
  • Manage flow of materials between supplier and plant to ensure materials are available for production and communicate any changes accordingly.
  • Proactively manage purchase orders with suppliers ensuring order fulfillment, backorders, shortages, amendments, and/or delivery of materials do not delay Jel Sert's production.
  • Ensure inventory meets the demands and expedite/de-expedite materials to prevent shortages/overages.
  • Maintain purchase order data and current vendor data and pricing in QAD.
  • Participation in vendor relations/negotiations as needed.
  • Detailed item set-up in 1.4.17 for all assigned items.
  • Work with Inventory control group to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Participate in annual fiscal inventory.
  • Special projects as required.
  • Backed up by other MRP Analysts as well as backs up.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Purchasing Analyst/Buyer role desired.
  • 3+ years inventory experience within a manufacturing environment required.
  • Food & Beverage or Pharmaceuticals industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with MRP systems required; QAD, WISE, and Formweigh preferred.
  • Experience with railroad bulk commodity deliveries a plus.
  • College degree preferred but not required. APICS certification desired.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • High attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple tasks and projects with specific deadlines.
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work independently within a team environment required.
  • Strong working knowledge and proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The Jel Sert Company is committed to pay transparency and will provide further compensation information during the interview process. The minimum compensation for the MRP Analyst is $49,063.00 annually. Compensation is determined by a candidate's experience, education, skills, training, and the internal equity within our organization. Actual compensation to be paid will be determined upon an offer. In addition to a competitive compensation package, regular full-time corporate employees of Jel Sert are eligible for our extensive benefits programs that can be reviewed here.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office and Plant / Warehouse environment

  • The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
  • The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to high heat.

FOOD SAFETY and QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow applicable procedures and work instructions per SQF / Company Policy
  • Monitor Quality Control Points (QCP) if Applicable QCCP's.
  • Back-up Redundant

This job provides ingredients at the right time to enhance productivity and meet demand. Identifying and implementing cost saving initiatives increases the bottom line and effects performance.
