Steel and Metal Purchaser

Fabhar Corporation is looking for Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metal Purchaser who can juggle multiple responsibilities at once and make important decisions in fast-paced environments and is ready to hit the ground running. Relevant experience in Metal Fabrication from rough to finish is preferred.

Job duties include but not limited to :

• Conducting research on potential products, vendors, and services, and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal for Structural Steel, Miscellaneous Metals and consumable products.
• Experience reading and compiling “Bill of Materials” for Structural Steel, Miscellaneous Metals and consumable products.
• Prepare Purchasing reports, cost comparisons, etc.
• Updating all records of purchased products.
• Good computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word and ComputerEase is a plus) with critical thinking skills.
• Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.
• Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
• Inspecting purchased products upon delivery and reporting any issues timely.
• Tracking and coordinating lead time and backordered material.
• Understanding material grades [import, domestic with Material Certificate] for Structural Steel, Miscellaneous Metals and consumable products.
• Liaising with delivery and warehouse teams to ensure goods are received.
• Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management
• Monitoring inventory and writing orders to refill stock.

Full Time Position  - Pay is $20.00 to $24.00 a hour ; Pending skill levels
