Surgical Scheduler

The Surgical Scheduler enhances the patient / customer experience by courteously and professionally scheduling inpatient / outpatient procedures and / or surgeries. The Surgical Scheduler supports delivery of the Jefferson Experience by placing emphasis on the prompt and courteous treatment of all patients. Essential Responsibilities :

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Collect and review patient insurance information to include but not limited to : obtaining prior authorizations (inpatient and outpatient) and referral information and ensure all necessary approvals are in place prior to the scheduled surgical procedure.
• Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone.
• Provides patient with all necessary pre-operative instructions.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.
