Role Description
The Assistant Construction Manager plays a key role in our team, reporting to the Project Director or assigned project leadership. This position provides essential support on public projects, assisting in various construction management activities. Responsibilities include helping to ensure compliance with project requirements by understanding contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications. The Assistant Construction Manager also assists in overseeing the progress of construction and managing project logistics, organization, and reporting.
As an Assistant Construction Manager, your role will involve coordinating and monitoring activities among builders, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related entities. You will support project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures support and administration. You will be expected to actively participate in project meetings, providing meeting minutes, documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses, and following up on action items. Ensuring adherence to contractual requirements in areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment by contractors, architects, and engineers will be essential. You will participate in project closeout activities, including punch lists, trainings, securing record drawings, guarantees, warranties, O&Ms, and related provisions for DSA closeout and final project delivery to Owner entities.
To qualify for this position, you must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture. You should have knowledge of construction contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications.
Experience in construction contract administration and safety training is also required. Salary for this position will be based on a variety of factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location, with a range of $110,000-$140,000.
