Job Description
Job Title : Utility Worker – Food & Nutrition Services
Location : Plainsboro, NJ 08536
Schedule : 5 days / week, including weekends and holidays
Shift Hours : 11 : 30 AM – 8 : 00 PM (40 hours / week)
Position Overview
The Utility Worker will support the Food & Nutrition Services department by performing dishwashing, sanitation, and general cleaning duties. This role ensures the safe, clean, and efficient operation of kitchen and food service areas, while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor with patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain dishwashing machines.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Clean assigned areas using approved germicidal detergents, supplies, and equipment (including sweeping and mopping).
- Clean and disinfect trash receptacles; collect and dispose of waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all food service areas.
- Follow all safety protocols, including food safety, infection prevention, and personal hygiene standards.
- Interact respectfully and courteously with patients, visitors, and staff.
