Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk Labor & Delivery position requiring advanced certifications and recent hospital experience.

Responsibilities

Work in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit within a Level IV Perinatal Center

Patient population includes high-risk obstetric cases

Unit features 6 triage rooms, 10 labor & delivery rooms, 3 ORs, and 3 PACU beds

Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 1-2 for moms or 1 : 4 for couplets

Rotating 12-hour shifts, alternating between days and nights (7A-7P and 7P-7A)

Floating required as needed to L&D, antepartum, postpartum, nursery, and mother / baby areas

Unit utilizes Epic (inpatient and Stork module)

Responsible for caring for high-risk mothers throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum

May assist with operating room cases, triage assessment, and postpartum care as needed

Orientation provided prior to assignment start date

Holiday coverage may be required according to unit needs

Teamwork emphasized; must be able to collaborate with a multidisciplinary support team

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate, except at specific facilities where restrictions apply

Requirements

Active MD or compact RN license required

Minimum two years of recent high-risk Labor & Delivery experience in a large hospital setting (500+ beds)

Certifications required : BLS, ACLS (AHA or Red Cross), NRP Advanced Provider (AAP or RQI), STABLE, and NCC EFM

Epic charting experience strongly preferred

Experience in comparable facility size and acuity necessary
