About The Position

Experience : Minimum of 1.5 years of experience accepted if tertiary experience; 2+ years experience if not.

License : High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Certifications : Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) must not expire during the term of the assignment.

Must-Have :

• Ability to lift / carry 25 pounds.
• Manual dexterity and ability to stand, bend, lift, and / or reach for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing) and follow oral and / or written instructions.

Description :

Large, busy state-of-the-art reprocessing center providing sterile processing services.

Every other weekend required.

The facility provides emergency services for the area.

The role involves disassembling, cleaning, sterilizing, reassembling, and packaging sterile supplies according to specifications and / or manufacturer instructions.

Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment during sterilization procedures.

Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts.

Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontamination.

Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality.

Identify malfunctioning items, record related information, and promptly notify the supervisor or biomedical engineer.

Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels.

Perform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.

Scrubs will be provided and must be laundered at the facility.

Shoes, jewelry, hair, and beard must be covered.

No nail polish permitted.
