Job description

Position Summary\n\nThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing nursing care consistent with the goals and philosophy of South Arkansas Regional Hospital and with standards of nursing practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas. RNs are responsible for assisting the physician or provider with direct patient care designed to meet the age / developmental specific needs of the patient.\n\nQualifications / Experience\n\nEducation : \n\nGraduate of an accredited RN program.\n\nExperience : \n\nOne year of experience in direct patient care is preferred.\n\nLicenses / Certificate : \n\nCurrent licensure to practice as an RN in the State of Arkansas (includes multistate).\n\nBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.\n\nAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required (may be obtained within 3 months of hire)\n\nDepartment Specific Requirements (may be obtained within 3 months of hire)\n\nEssential Job Functions\n\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following Essential Duties satisfactorily.   • Demonstrate knowledge of normal physical assessment findings and appropriately address abnormal findings.\n
  • Exhibit appropriate communication skills necessary to provide patient care directives and interpret responses to treatment.\n
  • Demonstrate appropriate awareness of suspected abuse / neglect and take measures to report suspicions.\n
  • Demonstrate competency and knowledge in proper technique for medication and immunization administration.\n
  • Identify and plan for safety precautions to prevent patient injury.\n
  • Meet departmental standards and competencies as evidence by department-specific documentation.\n
  • Document appropriately in patient medical records.\n
  • Attend scheduled departmental meetings and education.\n
  • Report safety concerns or events appropriately and participate in performance improvement initiatives for the department and facility.\n
  • Maintain professional working relationships with co-workers, customers, leaders, and providers.\n
  • Follow standard precaution protocols and abide by Infection Control procedures.\n
