Director of Warehouse Operations
Location : Gorham, Maine (occasional travel to our Hudson New Hampshire warehouse site) Pay : $100,125 per year D.O.E
Job Summary : The Director of Warehouse Operations works under the direction of the Executive Leadership Team to drive operational excellence in warehouse operations. The Director Warehouse Operations ensures and delivers the organization commitment to achieving triple bottom line results : integrating social, economic and environmental goals into thinking, planning and action. Responsible for driving outstanding customer service while guaranteeing a clean, organized and safe warehouse. The Director Warehouse Operations delivers a positive employee and customer experience by modeling Goodwill's mission and citizenship behaviors at all times.
Essential duties include the following :
- Directs internal systematic processes with safety at the forefront and a working knowledge of Kaizen, or Lean disciplines.
- Influences utilization of time and resource allocation to efficiently support the retail division through systematic processes pertaining to donation acquisition, logistics efficiencies, and capacities of all inventory and supplies moving and storage resource.
- Ensures efficient process is applied to receiving, replenishment, distribution and processing.
- Works closely with the operations leadership to direct logistics support of warehouse operations and outlet stores, after market and tech businesses in multiple locations.
- Provides transparent communication between warehousing, logistics, outlet centers, recycling and production operations.
- Maintains and communicates a global vision of industry best practices through research, collaborations and travel.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the rollout of logistics systems and business process improvements for inventory control, outlet operation, material handling and production operations.
- Directs delegates and manages seasonal inventory cycles, forecasts and manages space and efficient allocation and use of resources and common warehouse facilities.
- Supports Kaizen / Lean process, to include efficient allocation and labor, material handling and space allocation for warehousing operations.
- Directs delegates and oversees all logistics, intra-facility material handling systems, warehousing, outlet and warehouse operations and donation collections.
- Responsible for business plan development, budgeting, analysis of operational records and reports to project revenue, expenses all the while ensuring solid expense control.
- Provides strategic leadership for all warehousing, logistics, inventory management, outlet and recycling centers and production operations including tactical output and periodic indicators to maximize operations potential and profitability.
- Identifies, develops and encourages leadership qualities in staff through performance feedback, coaching and mentoring.
- Responsible for compliance to the Operations Budgets for warehouse operations.
- Other warehouse duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude in order to be a great teammate, role model and effective leader.Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.Proven high level of analytical skills, with demonstrated proficiency of inventory controls and fiscal budgeting.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, relating to all levels within the organization.Must be fluent in use of Excel.5-10 years middle to senior management in the field of manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics.Demonstrated success in managing and directing a large, diverse workforce.Thorough understanding of performance management, and is excellent in motivation, recognition and results.Ability to support the agency by speaking in public forums.Valid driver's license permitting operation of a vehicle in the State of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont with a satisfactory driving record.Criminal background check that meets Agency standards.Preferred Qualifications :
