Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced CAD Technician proficient in Carlson Survey, AutoCAD Civil 3D or Trimble Business Center to support our engineering and surveying teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting, design, and data processing for civil engineering and land surveying projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and maps using Carlson Survey and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Process survey data and create topographic, boundary, and construction staking plans.
- Collaborate with surveyors and engineers to ensure accurate design and drafting.
- Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Assist in creating 3D models for site development, roadways, and utility systems.
- Manage and organize CAD files and project documentation.
- Support field crews with data preparation and field-to-finish workflows.
Ideal Qualifications
Associate’s degree or technical certification in CAD drafting, civil engineering technology, or related field.Must be local. Job is not remote at this time.Minimum of 2 years of experience using Carlson Survey and AutoCAD Civil 3D.Proficiency in processing survey data and generating deliverables such as plats, topographic maps, and construction layouts.Strong understanding of civil engineering and land surveying principles.Familiarity with coordinate systems, alignments, profiles, and corridors in Civil 3D.Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of other CAD or surveying software (e.g., Trimble Business Center, MicroStation) is a plus.Preferred Skills
Experience with field-to-finish workflows and point cloud processing.Familiarity with local and state surveying standards and regulations.Strong communication skills for coordinating with project teams and clients.Benefits
