Overview

Instrumentation & Controls Engineer - Billerica, MA

We're hiring a hands-on Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support design / build projects in chemical process, life sciences, and environmental industries. If you're motivated, adaptable, and thrive in fast-paced environments — this is your chance to work on breakthrough technologies from concept to commissioning.

Responsibilities

Design & specify instrumentation and control systems
Develop I / O lists, loop diagrams, and control panel layouts
Select and specify sensors, transmitters, PLCs, and more
Support equipment procurement & vendor coordination
Assist with system commissioning & onsite troubleshooting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across disciplines

Qualifications

BS in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering

2+ years of experience in instrumentation or controls

Familiarity with DCS / PLC systems and field signal types

Understanding of UL-508A and hazardous area standards

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Experience with Procore, BlueBeam, and smart P&IDs
