Contribute to safety protocols, quality improvement, and cost containment while adhering to compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.\n\nThis position comes with a generous $7,500 sign-on bonus for external candidates.\n\nAbout Prisma Health Richland Hospital's Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit\n\nThe NSICU is a 16-bed unit specializing in the care of patients with neurological injuries or diseases. With a nurse to patient ratio of 1 : 2, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including neurocritical care physicians, nurse practitioners, and specialized critical care nurses. Our unit supports ongoing education in neuroscience to enhance patient care.\n\nEssential Functions\n

- Conduct thorough nursing assessments and collect appropriate data using evidence-based tools.\n
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team.\n
- Monitor and update care plans to reflect changes in patient status and needs.\n
- Demonstrate awareness and respect for the cultural, spiritual, and belief systems of patients and families.\n
- Ensure smooth transitions in care by planning for discharge and coordinating referrals.\n
- Provide direct patient care according to the established nursing plan.\n
- Delegate nursing tasks appropriately and ensure their completion by team members.\n
- Maintain patient safety and uphold high standards of care across the unit.\n
- Utilize performance indicators to assess quality and effectiveness of nursing care.\n
- Engage in continuous self-evaluation and education to maintain nursing competency.\n
- Communicate effectively regarding patient needs, ensuring documentation and reports are thorough and actionable.\n
- Advocate for patients by coordinating care with the healthcare team.\n\nSupervisory Responsibility\n\nThis position does not have management responsibilities and reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n
- Education : Associate's degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree is preferred.\n
- Experience : At least one year of experience as a registered nurse.\n\nCertifications\n
