Shop Service Technician 1

Job Summary : This mechanic position demonstrates the ability to perform basic inspections basic diagnoses and basic repairs of diesel-powered heavy equipment and / or related equipment or components following established procedures and guidelines. Works as a member of a team to provide basic mechanical services that satisfies customer needs and achieves departmental goals.

Entry-level position Generally has less than two years of experience and / or demonstrated job relevant knowledge / skills. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job; works under immediate supervision.

Essential Functions :

• Models promotes reinforces and rewards the consistent use of HOLTs Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools models and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision Values and Mission
• Performs basic disassembles and assembles of machine components to manufacturers specifications through the use of hand tools pneumatic tools and any specialized tooling
• Assists in the rebuilding repairing reconditioning and maintaining of equipment and components
• Demonstrates good customer relations and support; communicates customer needs to shop management
• Learns how to plan equipment and component repairs
• Learns how to complete parts orders and identify parts for return
• Maintains all equipment and work areas keeps in good clean and orderly condition
• Completes all documents associated with repairs in a timely manner
• Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies procedures and standards
• Works overtime as required by workload and customers needs
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g. ProTech Technician Training Paths
• Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned
