Job Description & Requirements Specialty : ED - Emergency Department Discipline : RN Start Date : 10 / 19 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days, nights Employment Type : Local Contract Job description : Key responsibilities : Perform admission and triage assessments on patients arriving to the ER, determining priority of care. Monitor and evaluate patients’ vital signs, recognize and respond to changes in condition. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians; initiate IVs, fluid therapy, etc. Collaborate with doctors, other nurses, and ancillary healthcare staff to develop and execute patient care plans. Qualifications & Requirements Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois. Minimum of 1-2 years of ER nursing experience required. Certifications required : BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) often required or preferred. Strong critical thinking, ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred : Must have prior experience in an urban, Level I Trauma ED.
