Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Anderson, SC 29621 (South Carolina nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg) Unit

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) position

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts per week)

Weekly Hours : 36 hours

Start Date : November 10, 2025

Openings : 2 Med / Surg RN positions available

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,590 - $1,710

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (South Carolina or compact state)

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift

Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in a Med / Surg or PCU setting (2 years preferred)

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required

Completed at least one travel nursing assignment with current agency

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission

Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with families and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record

Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning to support optimal patient outcomes

Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and continuity of care

Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing staff and support personnel

Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols

Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment and contribute to team building

Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation

Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain clinical competency
