We are looking for a detail-oriented Title Clerk to join our team in Midland, Texas. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a key role in facilitating the accurate and timely processing of vehicle titles and registrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting tasks and administrative support, as well as a keen eye for detail and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities :
- Process vehicle titles and registrations according to state-specific guidelines and regulations.
- Prepare and compile tax and title documentation for submission to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Verify collection of funds and ensure appropriate lienholders are paid before processing title applications.
- Review title applications for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all required information is included.
- Issue payoff checks for trade-ins and tax, title, and license (TT& L) payments.
- Maintain a tracking system to monitor the status of outstanding titles and provide weekly updates.
- Report missing or problematic title work to management and follow up on unresolved issues.
- Sign over titles to wholesalers once full payment has been received and update records accordingly.
- Stay informed about changes in title regulations by attending training sessions and seminars.
- Provide training and guidance to team members and sales staff on title procedures and regulatory updates.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a title clerk, accounting clerk, or similar role.
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and experience with invoice processing.
- Exceptional data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Familiarity with state and local title and registration regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and external stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing regulations and processes.
