Manufacturing Engineer II - Lunar Transporter (Integration)
Join Blue Origin as a Manufacturing Engineer II focused on integrating the Lunar Transporter vehicle into operations. The role is part of Operations, overseeing Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance.

Key Responsibilities
- Support industrialization of new products (solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, and structures).
- Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT).
- Translate engineering requirements into repeatable manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, inspection plans).
- Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
- Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances; implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
- Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.3+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering.1+ years of experience creating English work instructions.Must be able to work second shift and have flexibility to move shifts as needed; open to extended hours.Preferred Qualifications
Basic understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles.General knowledge of quality and safety standards like AS9100 and ISO 9001.Experience or internship in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace.Exposure to assembling and integrating aerospace vehicles or subsystems.Familiarity with cleanroom environments.Participation in new product introduction or production process projects.Basic understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing principles.Interest in manufacturing automation and digital work instructions.Familiarity with CAD software and PLM / MRP systems.Experience designing or using tooling and fixtures.Ability to support basic product requirements and teamwork.Familiarity with bill-of-materials (BOM) concepts.Willingness to learn and collaborate with experienced engineers and technicians.Basic understanding of project management.Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.Commitment to quality, detail, and mission assurance.Benefits
