Our Lead Sheet Metal Installers play a key role in completing projects for our commercial clients. This position requires individuals that have a wide range of sheet metal skills, such as duct installation, be familiar with different hanging methods for equipment and duct, able to modify duct work in the field. Know sealing products and methods for duct work and roof penetrations. While this wide range of experience is required, our construction team utilizes each employees’ strengths to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Lead Sheet Metal Installer who has the desire and flexibility to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours or more per week. The right individual must be a team player who works and communicates well with people at all levels while maintaining full ownership of assigned responsibilities. • Be professional and courteous to internal and external customers.
• Effectively co-ordinate with different trades, general contractors and shop personnel.
• Assures that employees know and abide by the ASEI safety policy.
• Enforce compliance of policies and procedures, as outlined by company and management, to ensure an efficient, productive and safe working atmosphere.
• Have current certifications in OSHA 10, Fall Protection, CPR/First Aid, asbestos awareness, heat related illness, lead awareness and rigging and signaling.
• Maintains knowledge of SMACNA standards and applicable codes.
• Have current certifications in forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts.
• Acceptance and buy-in on the estimated hours for the project.
• Perform all types of layout.
• Install duct, be familiar with different hanging methods for equipment and duct, able to modify duct work in the field. Know sealing products and methods for duct work and roof penetrations. Other duties may include demo, setting equipment, gas piping and basic carpentry. This is a representative list only; other duties may be assigned by management.
• Knowledge to weld, solder or seal different metals.
• Use the machinery/tools in the most productive way; recognizing the limits of the equipment.
• Read and understand blueprints well.
• A visual and practical sense of developing job layout and work plan.
• Attend pre-construction meetings.
• Take off material lists for purchase and fabrication and double-checking takeoff measurements.
• Coordinate with different trades, general contractors and shop personnel.
• Coordinate with production office and shop on material delivery dates.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Responsible for communicating changes in scope to construction manager, project manager and salesperson.
• Responsible for daily logs of work performed, hours and personnel and any significant delay or changes to our work plan.
• Responsible for tracking hours and alerting construction manager if estimated hours are going to exceed estimate.
• Responsible to record time accurately on the timecards.
• Supervise, train and assign work to personnel in order to improve their skill level.
• Encourage co-workers in improving installation methods.
• Encourage co-workers and compliment them on jobs well done.
• Assure materials are recorded on stock transfer sheets.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Directly supervises sheet metal installers assigned to the job.
• Carries out management and supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 5 years as a journey-level sheet metal installer.
• Valid Washington State driver's license
