Automation Technician

Overview

Under the supervision, this position may design, program and perform testing of automated machinery and process to enhance reliability and efficiencies. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and / or abilities required.

Engineering

• Performs troubleshooting, modification or installation of relay logic, motor control circuits, variable frequency and DC motor drive systems, motor power circuits (120V to 480V 3phase) and common utility / lighting circuits using proper test equipment and electrical prints
• Develop, implement, modify and troubleshoot new or existing control systems, to include the design, installation, and implementation of new control logic and automation hardware such as PLCs, HMIs and industrial computer-based systems
• Performs installation, setup, calibration, and field fault analysis on analog instrumentation and instrument loops
• Supports DeviceNet, ControlNet, and Ethernet data communication systems
• Maintains calibration and equipment documentation and controls the distribution of prints and other documents needed for troubleshooting and repair of critical plant equipment while satisfying the documentation requirements to maintain the company\'s governmental and ISO certifications
• Assists the Maintenance and Engineering Departments in support of all plant operations
