Irrigation Service Technician

Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced Irrigation Service Technician to handle all aspects of irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair. This role combines hands-on technical work with light supervision of helpers and direct customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain complete irrigation systems : controllers, valves, heads, rotors, drip systems, 2-wire systems
  • Perform pressure testing, trenching, pipe pulling, and wiring
  • Read irrigation plans and lay out job sites
  • Operate specialized equipment : trenchers, pullers, GPS locators, tampers
  • Manage material ordering and job scheduling
  • Interface professionally with customers, subcontractors, and architects
  • Complete job paperwork, change orders, and cost reports
  • Train and supervise irrigation helpers as needed

Requirements

Essential Qualifications :

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Valid driver's license with clean record
  • 2+ years irrigation service experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) - oral and written
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and handle physical demands
  • CPR / First Aid certification
  • Clean background check and employment eligibility documentation

    • Technical Skills :

  • Experience with all irrigation system components and installation
  • Ability to read irrigation plans and drawings
  • Equipment operation and basic maintenance
  • GPS locator system proficiency
  • CRM software experience (or ability to learn)
  • Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) certification (Preferred)
