Job Summary

The Building Engineer is responsible for maintaining and repairing all common areas of the Association as defined by its governing documents. Reporting to the General Manager, this role ensures optimal performance of all building systems, coordinates with contractors, and responds to property related emergencies, including those outside of normal working hours.

Action is seeking an experienced Building Engineer I to join our team at our luxury high rise association in San Diego.

Schedule : M-F 7am-3 : 30 pm

Compensation : $34.00 - $36.00 per hour

What You’ll Do (Job Duties)

• Oversee and maintain all major building systems, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, CCTV, fire / life safety, and access control.
• Conduct routine inspections, perform minor repairs, and identify maintenance needs.
• Serve as the primary responder to property emergencies and remain available for after-hours response.
• Coordinate and monitor city / state inspections, permits, and compliance with OSHA safety standards.
• Supervise daily activities and performance of onsite vendors such as housekeeping, landscaping, and pool services.
• Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs, annual maintenance schedules, and capital improvement plans.
• Assist with budget planning, track maintenance expenses, and manage inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Respond to resident inquiries, address maintenance concerns, and train staff on safety and system operations.
• Monitor in-unit construction for compliance and support architectural review processes.
• Participate in Board and committee meetings and maintain all required certifications and safety documentation.
