Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school-based Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) and Physical Therapist (PT) opportunity is available to support K-12 students in Gallup, NM. This contract position spans the full school year, offering professionals the chance to make a meaningful impact on children's physical development and educational progress in a dynamic school environment.
Responsibilities :
- Deliver physical therapy services to students within the K-12 setting, focusing on enhancing mobility, strength, and functional independence.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to design and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct assessments and document student progress to ensure compliance with educational and therapeutic goals.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert recommendations to support student success.
- Maintain equipment and provide education on therapeutic techniques as needed.
Qualifications :
Valid and current PTA or PT license with school-based experience preferred.Knowledge of pediatric physical therapy principles within educational contexts.Strong communication skills to engage with students, families, and school staff effectively.Ability to develop and execute individualized therapy plans tailored to the unique needs of each student.Flexibility and professionalism to work within a school calendar contract structure.Location :
