How you'll contribute

A Director of Risk Management and Quality who excels in this role :

  • Directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements / objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal / external audits.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
  • Manages the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work, ensures quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance, and administering corrective action for staff.
  • This position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors. You will have access to and / or work with sensitive and / or confidential information.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a Master's degree in a health-related field (preferred, or a Bachelor's degree in a health-related field with equivalent in a psychiatric hospital. Additional requirements include :

  • Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
  • CPR and De-escalation Training within 30 days.
  • If applicable, unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
