JOB PURPOSE :

The Data Governance Specialist drives and supports our data governance initiatives and ensures the integrity, quality, and security of our organization's data assets. This role is responsible for implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and processes to support AF’s strategic objectives and regulatory compliance requirements.

This role is responsible for implementing specific aspects of the data governance program, such as policies, processes, and tools to ensure that AF’s data has a high level of accuracy, it is secured, actively managed, and all related compliance policies are followed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the definition and implementation of the organization's data governance vision, strategy, and roadmap.

Document and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures.

Implement data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring mechanisms.

Support the development and enforcement of data security and privacy policies, controls, and procedures.

Implement metadata management processes to capture and maintain data lineage, definitions, and dependencies.

Provide guidance to employees on data governance processes and procedures, as well as training on the data governance tool stack.

Implement and support mechanisms for governance oversight, including regular reviews and audits.
