Position Overview As an RN on the Pediatric Unit, you will be responsible for providing direct, patient-centered care to children with a variety of medical conditions. Your role is vital in assessing, planning, and implementing care plans that meet the unique needs of a younger patient population. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure every child receives the best possible care, while also providing crucial support and education to their families.
Key Responsibilities - Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients, monitoring their health and developmental needs.
- Administer medications and treatments with a focus on age-appropriate techniques and dosage.
- Assess patient conditions, interpret vital signs, and maintain meticulous medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians, child life specialists, and other healthcare professionals to create and execute effective care plans.
- Offer emotional support and clear, simple education to patients and their families.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment, with a strong emphasis on family-centered care.
Qualifications - Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- A Washington Registered Nurse License is required upon hire.
- A National Provider BLS from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
- A National Provider PALS from the American Academy of Pediatrics is required upon hire.
- A minimum of 1 year of Pediatric Nursing experience is required.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- National Certification in your area of specialty.
