  • About the Role :

    The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a healthcare setting. This position involves assisting patients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting their overall well-being. The CNA will work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to implement care plans and monitor patient progress. Effective communication and compassion are essential, as the CNA will be the primary point of contact for patients and their families. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to enhance the quality of life for patients through dedicated support and care.

    Minimum Qualifications :

    • Current certification as a Nursing Assistant in the state of Connecticut.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Basic life support (BLS) certification.
    • Preferred Qualifications :

    • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in long-term care or rehabilitation.
    • Additional certifications in specialized areas such as dementia care or palliative care.
    • Responsibilities :

    • Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
    • Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
    • Help patients with mobility and physical activities, including transferring them to and from beds or wheelchairs.
    • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and changes in condition.
    • Skills :

      The required skills for this position include strong interpersonal communication, which is vital for building rapport with patients and their families. Attention to detail is essential for accurately monitoring vital signs and documenting patient care. Compassion and empathy are crucial in providing emotional support to patients during challenging times. Time management skills will help the CNA prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred skills, such as specialized training in areas like dementia care, will enhance the CNA's ability to provide tailored support to patients with specific needs.

      7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am
