Job Title : Quality Control Assistant Manager
FLSA : Non-Exempt
General Function : The individual in this position will be involved with all aspects of Quality and Food Safety to ensure safe and wholesome food for our customers. This individual will work closely with production employees, supervisors, managers and regulatory staff. This individual will work with staff and suppliers to ensure the food source is safe and wholesome.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
- Ensure the daily operation of the Q.C department.
- Schedule Q.C. technicians and verify all daily tasks are assigned.
- Review daily production paperwork and ensure it is complete prior to filing. Verifying all CCPs and regulatory requirements are met.
- Assist R&D and Upper management with development of new products and procedures as is necessary.
- Monitor SOPs and forms, update as needed.
- Review daily samples of all production runs, ensuring proper containers, lids, dating and product are used.
- Monitor quality of ingredients and finished goods.
- Conduct counseling and reviews of staff as needed.
- Assist with tours of the facility for inspections from various regulatory agencies. Follow-up with deviations discovered during inspections.
- Monitor daily allergen sequences and assist production with sequence of production runs.
- Ensure the weekly collection of Microbial swabs (including Listeria swabs) and quarterly testing of product for presence of Listeria.
Secondary Responsibilities :
Ability to work under time constraints and be flexible in hours worked.Performs pre-operational sanitation checks on equipment as needed.Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics :
Must have the ability to use logical or scientific thinking to solve problems and with several abstract and concrete variables.Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.Have the ability to work independently.Education and Experience :
Production experience preferredExperience in Quality Control preferredPhysical Requirements :
Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently; and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Must be able to be on feet (standing and walking) for 6-8 hours a day.Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.Must be able to perform the following physical activities : Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.Working Conditions : The duties of this position are performed mostly in the production area which is wet and refrigerated (@38 degrees). Adaptability for changes throughout daily operation.
Contacts : Has daily contact with employees and management. Has frequent contact with USDA assigned to facility. Has occasional contact with federal or state regulatory agencies regarding inspections.
