About The Position

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN (preferred)

Must-Have : Basic and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, NRP, BLS, STABLE (preferred not required)

Description :

Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members.

Effectively interacts with the patient and significant others, while maintaining high standards of professional nursing.

Provides high-quality care to patient populations including adolescent and adult females and neonates.

Nurses function in all capacities including labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, nursery, and NICU.

The unit includes a 3-bed triage space and 12 LDRP rooms.

There is 1 operating room on the unit for C-sections.

A group of midwives and OB / GYNs collaborate in patient care.

Pediatric hospitalists staff the nursery and NICU.

When census is low, staff may be utilized in the Pediatric Department or out on Acute care as a rescue or constant observer.

There are 16 nursery beds and 3 NICU beds available.

Follows established staffing guidelines.

Required to assist in C-sections, but only responsible for the baby; staff will not scrub for sections.
