Senior Credit Officer
IFG is seeking an analytical, organized and sales minded individual to join our commercial credit team. Reporting to IFG's COO and CEO, this individual will be responsible for working directly with the Line of Business in this Specialty Finance Service Company. This role requires an in depth knowledge of credit, commercial underwriting trends and corporate policies and procedures. The position involves direct oversight of the credit underwriting, portfolio oversight, management and credit quality. Reporting to this position will be Portfolio Manager(s) and transaction processor(s) which assist in the day-to-day portfolio responsibilities. Primary objectives of this position are to ensure that commercial transactions are underwritten within the principles of safe and sound underwriting practices and established policy guidelines for IFGN Australia. Additional responsibilities include special reports and projects for the benefit of senior management, Board of Directors and regulatory constituencies.
Job Responsibilities :
- Oversee the underwriting of newly originated commercial client relationships.
- Perform due diligence and require that appropriate credit structures are established and monitored on each new and existing credit file.
- Oversee daily, weekly, quarterly & annual portfolio reporting. Prepare & present updates and status to management and Board.
- Construct, evaluate, maintain and update various policies and procedures relative to credit policy including recommendations for enhancements.
- Special projects as directed by management.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to internal compliance policies and procedures.
Job Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required (Graduate Degree in a related field preferred)3+ years of experience in underwriting commercial lending or specialty finance areas preferred.Must possess highly advanced credit analysis skills (prefer a candidate with formal credit training)Working knowledge of account major accounting principlesDemonstrated knowledge of financial statement analysisExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSolid problem resolution skillsAbility to effectively interact with all levels of leadership and employees within the organizationAbility to work autonomously, handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to new demands and challengesStrong analytical and organizational skills with close attention to detailAbility to work under minimal supervision is requiredCompetently utilize computer software MS Word, MS Excel and email are an integral part of day-to-day activitySalary, based on experience
