PlanIT Group is hiring a Technical Writer for a hybrid remote position in Houston, TX 77094 . The role involves writing infrastructure, operational, application, and cybersecurity documentation. This is a 6+ months contract . Benefits include PTO and medical coverage.

You will work onsite 3 days per week.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Organize and write support documents, user guides, manuals, training guides, policies, standards, procedures, design specifications, Visio diagrams, operational / runbooks, test plans, and business correspondence.
• Assist with creating policies, standards, and procedures.
• Determine the needs of global end users of technical documentation.
• Use screenshots, drawings, diagrams, and charts to enhance understanding.
• Select appropriate mediums for communication, such as manuals or online training.
• Standardize content across platforms and media.
• Gather usability feedback from end users, solution designers, and project teams.
• Revise existing documents based on new issues, enhancements, or changes.
• Create operational instructions, FAQs, and help manuals for support staff and end users.
