Manager, Cloud Governance / Remote

Job Description

A global law firm is seeking a Manager, Cloud Governance to lead enterprise data governance initiatives across cloud and on-prem environments. This role will define and implement data policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen the firm’s data protection posture. Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a data governance framework, including policies, standards, and controls

Implement data retention, classification, and protection programs using Microsoft Purview and related tools

Oversee data security and privacy controls to safeguard firm and client information

Collaborate with Security, GRC, IT, and Legal teams to align governance with business and regulatory requirements

Provide training and guidance on data handling best practices

Design reporting and alerting mechanisms to support proactive data governance

Microsoft Purview (Information Protection, Lifecycle Management, DLP)

Varonis, iManage Threat Manager

Azure Information Protection, O365, SharePoint, Teams

Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, and related frameworks

\n What We’re Looking For

7+ years in IT, information security, or data governance

Expertise in cloud data protection and Microsoft 365 security tools

Strong understanding of risk management and compliance frameworks

Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, or CRISC preferred

Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
