About the Role :
Are you a creative and compassionate Special Education Teacher? We’re looking for someone who’s ready to make a splash in the classroom and bring their A-game to support students with mild to moderate needs.
You’ll be the superhero guiding students through their educational journey, crafting personalized plans, and adapting lessons to make learning both engaging and effective.
What You'll Be Rockin' :
- Inspiring Instruction : Use your toolkit of teaching techniques to meet the unique needs of each student. From fun activities to innovative strategies, you’ll make sure learning is exciting and accessible.
- Crafting IEPs : Create and manage Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that are tailored to each student’s needs. You’ll be the go-to person for ensuring that students get the support they need to thrive.
- IEP Meetings : Schedule and lead IEP meetings, making sure everything aligns with state and federal guidelines. You’ll be the mastermind behind keeping the process smooth and compliant.
- Tracking Progress : Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and celebrating achievements. You’ll keep students, parents, and the school team in the loop about how everyone is doing.
- Creating a Positive Vibe : Foster a classroom environment where respect and kindness are the norm. You’ll set the stage for a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Lesson Planning : Design and adapt lesson plans to suit each student’s interests and learning styles. Your creativity will shine through in every lesson you prepare.
- Behavior Management : Teach socially appropriate behaviors and self-regulation skills, promoting a safe and supportive classroom environment.
- Medicaid Logging : Manage Medicaid logging for service reimbursement when applicable.
What You’ll Need to Bring :
- Degree : A bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field is a must. A Master’s degree is only needed for specific roles.
- Certification : Hold a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Generalist License or Endorsement.
For ELA-S roles, you’ll need to be bilingual in Spanish and English and pass the Spanish language proficiency exam.
- Experience : Experience with young students with exceptional needs is a plus. Familiarity with IEPs, FBA / BIPs, and co-teaching will make you stand out.
- Passion : A belief in every student's potential and a commitment to creating an equitable and supportive learning environment.
