Job Duties and Responsibilities

EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Aviation Liaison Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will play a crucial role in the prototyping and support of in-flight connectivity systems. Key Responsibilities :

Provide technical support to triage and help resolve installation, design, manufacturing, and maintenance issues

Manage and own issues from discovery to resolution, working closely with the airline operator, internal and external engineering, ODA and UMs

Investigate and analyze discrepancies, defects, and non-conforming parts

Collaborate with field and engineering teams to develop corrective actions and solutions

Ensure compliance with industry standards, FAA regulations, and engineering specifications

Review and update technical documentation, ECNs, drawings, and work orders

Working closely with our Maintenance Call Center, conduct root cause analysis on production and operational challenges

Support aircraft modification projects by coordinating design and implementation efforts

Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to maintain quality standards

Travel as needed to prototype installations, customers, vendor sites, etc.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience :

Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or electrical engineering with an aviation background, or equivalent work experience

10+ years of relevant experience

Experience in aviation modifications, manufacturing, maintenance, and / or quality assurance

Skills and Qualifications :

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Proficiency in engineering and technical documentation

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Knowledge of FAA and industry regulatory standards

Strong technical background in avionics, telecommunications, or related disciplines

Experience designing or modifying aircraft hardware, aircraft structures and avionics

Ability to influence a variety of stakeholders to establish technical concurrence

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Familiarity with aviation regulations and standards, such as RTCA DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254

Proven experience in project management within the aviation or in-flight connectivity industry

Experience executing retrofit and line fit projects in the aviation industry

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Salary Ranges

Compensation : $97,500.00 / Year - $130,000.00 / Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
