Assembly Process and Industrialization Engineer (Aerospace)

About the role

Picture your day : you start on the floor with a quick 5S sweep and a stand-up with Operations, then open Epicor to refine routings and BOMs based on yesterday’s throughput data. Before lunch, you’re shoulder-to-shoulder with Quality closing an RCCA, drafting an 8D, and capturing corrective actions. In the afternoon, you facilitate operator training on a new fixture, finalize a capital request for a tooling upgrade, and update work instructions translated from the latest engineering drawings and specifications. You wrap by reviewing waste metrics and locking in the next set of continuous improvement trials.

What you’ll own

• Optimize assembly processes while maintaining accurate ERP records (Epicor), including item masters, BOMs, and routings.
• Author clear, visual work instructions derived from engineering blueprints, specifications, and supporting documentation.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on tooling, capital projects, defect prevention, and workforce training.
• Partner with Quality to execute RCCA and APQP, and generate documentation such as Corrective Actions, 8D reports, and related records.
• Use 5S, Six Sigma, and Lean methods to capture and analyze data, expose inefficiencies, and guide decision-making.
• Identify waste and implement durable control solutions that drive productivity, quality, and cost reductions across cross-functional teams.
• Prepare proposals and business cases for capital improvements; track benefits and ROI post-implementation.
