Suburban Maryland Ophthalmologist

Overview

The Medical Eye Center is a six-physician practice with two offices in suburban Maryland : Olney and Columbia. The practice is aging, and the senior ophthalmologist hopes to retire within the next year or two, provided a hard-working physician with strong surgical skills is hired to gradually phase him out. Fellowship training would be desirable but not required. The new physician would work four or five days a week and may wish to become a partner after a two-year period. The practice is physician-owned, with control of daily functioning retained by the physicians rather than a corporate owner. Availability is ideally after the first of the year (2026), pending Maryland licensing and insurance company verification, but the practice is willing to wait for the ideal candidate.

Responsibilities

• Provide ophthalmology services and surgical care with strong surgical skills.
• Work four or five days per week.
• Participate in a phased transition to gradually retire the senior partner.
• Collaborate with a physician-owned practice that emphasizes physician control of daily operations.
