We are seeking a scientist or engineer to help us advance the state of the art in the processing, exploitation, and dissemination of non-optical imaging technologies, both in SAR ATR and AI-driven signal processing for SAR data. As a member of our team, you'll contribute to projects interested in leveraging the unique strengths of technologies like SAR for challenging problems and environments. You will be joining a highly collaborative team of engineers and scientists who thrive on creating innovative solutions, testing those solutions, and integrating them into existing architectures.

As a non-optical imaging engineer, you will ...

• Implement, test, and validate algorithms for ATR.
• Drive strategy for developing the next generation of AI-driven SAR processors.
• Apply your expertise of the principles, theories, concepts, and techniques of all aspects of SAR to deliver highly complex solutions and systems.
• Work in a team environment along with imaging practitioners in a fun, open environment.
• Create and evaluate novel datasets to enable the development, training, testing, and validation of state-of-the-art machine learning models.
• Design, execute, and analyze tests to verify and validate specific ATR solutions.
• Collaborate with other algorithm developers, signal processing experts, and system integrators for multimodal solutions to challenging ATR problems.
• Present research and findings to sponsors, academia, and industry via briefings, conference proceedings, and journal articles.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education / training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and / or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development. $290,000 Annually
