Overview\nWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, particularly in the recovery phase following anesthesia. This role is crucial in ensuring patient safety and comfort as they transition from surgical procedures. The Registered Nurse - PACU will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients, utilizing advanced clinical skills and knowledge.\n\nResponsibilities\n
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition post-anesthesia to ensure stability and recovery.\n
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including ventilatory support when necessary.\n
- Assess patient needs and respond promptly to any changes in condition.\n
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery processes.\n
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems.\n
- Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.\n
- Implement basic life support measures as needed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.\n
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the PACU.\n\nExperience\n
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.\n
- Previous experience in a PACU, emergency room, or clinic setting is highly desirable.\n
- Knowledge of physiology and experience with durable medical equipment (DME) is preferred.\n
- Familiarity with occupational health practices is a plus.\n
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus.\n
