SUMMARY :
- The Global Engagement & Advocacy Intern (unpaid) is a volunteer position that will support one or a couple of WGH’s global programs by assisting in the advocacy campaigns, chapter coordination, communications, and / or partnership engagement.
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about gender equality, global health, and movement building, seeking to gain hands-on experience within an international NGO network. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other related duties may be assigned) :
Advocacy & Movement Building : Support the design and implementation of advocacy campaigns promoting gender equity in health leadership.Conduct desk research on gender and health policy trends to inform WGH’s global initiatives.Assist in developing briefing materials, advocacy toolkits, and event talking points.Contribute to virtual and in-person mobilization efforts around key events (e.g., World Health Assembly, CSW, UNGA).Chapter Engagement & Gender Integration :
Collaborate with WGH chapters to document gender-focused evidence and success stories.Support gender integration activities across WGH projects and chapter initiatives.Facilitate communication between chapters to share learnings and strengthen coordination.Resource Development & Partnership Support :
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes for staff and contractors to Conduct research on potential partners, donors, and funding opportunities.Draft concept notes, proposals, and partnership briefs under supervision.Support tracking of commitments, deliverables, and donor reporting. Communications & Storytelling :
Assist in managing social media content and supporting global campaigns.Draft posts, articles, and newsletters highlighting WGH’s impact and stories from the field.Contribute to digital toolkits, blog posts, and visual content in coordination with the Communications Team. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :
Experience : Current student or graduate in public health, gender studies, communications, international relations, or related field.Demonstrated interest in gender equity, health policy, or international development.Strong writing, research, and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, virtual environment.Proficiency in English required; additional languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese) a plus.
